Museum Mile Festival

The weather today would make any sane person want to roll over and go back to sleep, but there is at least one good reason to get out of bed today - the 31st annual Museum Mile Festival commences at 6 pm. Along 5th Avenue, stretching from 82nd Street to 105th Street, the festival lasts until 9 pm and is totally FREE! All 9 museums that call this section of 5th Avenue home are open late tonight and are waiving all admission fees. The festival is held rain or shine and 5th Avenue will be dotted with live bands and other entertainment instead of vehicular traffic for a change. So pull on your wellies and venture out because who can say no to an evening of puddle jumping and art?!

*This year's 31st annual festival kicks off at the Solomon R. Guggenheim Museum with an opening ceremony, at 5:45pm, on the steps of its landmark building on Fifth Avenue @ 89th Street.
